gradenyc: Thomas Hickey on Jean Pierre Orinel’s “Girafe” lamp — What’s not to love about this lamp?  It’s a simple gesture making a bold statement.  The “Girafe” lamp by Jean Pierre Orinel is obviously a direct reference to the animal’s physicality.  The over-sized shade, however, perfectly offsets the slim profile, creating a balanced composition.    At GRADE, we use the same approach when balancing our designs.  Adding an inspired accent such as the “Girafe” relaxes our straight-forward designs, contributing an eclectic juxtaposition to GRADE’s otherwise clean aesthetic.
